3 Men Arrested For Criminal Possession of Stolen Property

Fifth Squad Detectives have arrested three men for criminal possession of stolen property after a car chase in West Hempstead.

On January 20 at approximately 3:20 p.m., Nassau County officers from the Fifth Squad spotted a black 2017 Honda Civic traveling north on Woodfield Road. The Civic made a dangerous lane change, and officers responded by activating their emergency lights to conduct a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop.

Afterward, it was determined that the vehicle was reported stolen. The driver, Brailyn Jaquez Perez, twenty-three, of 200 West Merrick Road, and the passengers, Luis Joel Batlle Espinosa, nine-teen, of 1518 Monroe Avenue, Bronx, and Adamarie Burgos, twenty, of 2020 Cierco Avenue, Bronx, were all arrested.

Brailyn Jaquez Perez, Luis Joel Batlle Espinosa, and Adamarie Burgos were all charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and unauthorized use of a vehicle in the third degree. Defendant Jaquez Perez is also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and numerous traffic summonses. They will be arraigned on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at First District Court in Hempstead.
