Huntington Station Lounge Manager Cited during SLA Check

Suffolk County Police last night cited the manager of a Huntington Station lounge during a New York State Liquor Authority compliance check.

In response to community complaints, Second Precinct Crime Section officers, in conjunction with Second Precinct Patrol officers, New York State Liquor Authority, the Town of Huntington Fire Marshal and the Town of Huntington Code Enforcement Inspector, conducted a State Liquor Authority (SLA) inspection at H Hookah Lounge, located at 107 East Jericho Turnpike, on January 18 at approximately 12 a.m.

During the inspection, police observed numerous patrons smoking hookahs, which was not licensed by the Town of Huntington. The manager of the Lounge, Anmol Dhawan, 30, of Melville, was issued a receipt and seven hookahs were seized. The fire marshal and code enforcement inspector issued 12 combined building, fire and code Violations to the owner.

The SLA observed that the lounge was illegally operating as a nightclub, with a DJ playing music and a dance floor. The agency issued numerous citations for violations and the establishment was closed for the night.
