Two people are dead in a single-car crash in Levittown.
According to detectives from the Nassau County Homicide Squad, on January 5 at 5:30 p.m., Gerhard Frobart, 89, was operating a 2001 Ford Taurus southbound on Loring Road with his 88-year-old female passenger, Ella Gimpel, when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole.
Frobart was pronounced dead at the scene. Gimpel suffered serious injuries and was transported by Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local area hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
