Queens Man Arrested for Levittown Burglary

A Queens man has been arrested for a burglary that happened in Levittown.

On November 24 at 2:15 a.m., Nassau County Eighth Precinct patrol officers responded to an alarm at E Smoke and Beer Island, located at 3811 Hempstead Turnpike. Upon arrival, officers observed that the front glass door had been smashed. Officers conducted an investigation and located Leondre D. Bent, 28, of 11630 171st Street, Jamaica, near the store. It was determined that he did throw a brick through the front glass door. He then entered the store and removed an 18-pack of Budweiser beer from a shelf. Bent was placed under arrest in front of 3145 Hempstead Turnpike.

Bent was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, and criminal possession of stolen property. He was arraigned on November 24 at First District Court in Hempstead.
