The Suffolk County Department of Public Works will host a public information meeting on October 16 on the agency’s preliminary corridor study at County Road 39 starting at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place at Southampton High School, located at 141 Narrow Lane in Southampton.

The Corridor Study of CR 39 will develop, evaluate, and identify long-term roadway and transportation system improvements to reduce traffic congestion, minimize local detours, and improve safety along County Road 39 and its surrounding roadways.

The meeting will provide an overview of the CR 39 Corridor Study. This includes details on the background of the project, what are the tasks at hand, what the project hopes to accomplish, when the project will begin and when it will be completed.

After the presentation, there will be time for public comments. Further public comment can be emailed to CR39study@suffolkcountyny.gov.

“Making information readily available to residents is the surest way to alleviate concerns around ongoing studies and potential projects,” said Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine. “It is important the community is aware of the work the DPW is doing to improve this important roadway.”
