Student Arrested for Making Online Threat

Suffolk County Police arrested a Lindenhurst teenager after he made a threat of mass harm online.

A 911 caller reported a 15-year-old male student at Brennan High School, located at 550 Mount Avenue in West Babylon, threatened to shoot people at the school during an online chat involving other students from the school. The threat was not made during school hours.

Following an investigation by Second Precinct Crime Section officers and Second Squad detectives, as well as First Precinct patrol officers, the 15-year-old, whose name was not released due to his age, was
charged with making a threat of mass harm, a misdemeanor. He was released into the custody of his family and will be arraigned at Suffolk County Family Court at a later date.
