13-Year-Old Arrested for Attempting to Burglarize Merrick Bicycle Shop

The First Squad reports the arrest of a male juvenile for trying to break into a bicycle shop in Merrick.

According to Nassau County First Squad Detectives, the juvenile tried to burglarize Merrick Bicycles, located at 1827 Merrick Avenue, on August 18 at 2:41 a.m., but fled the scene before gaining entry. Officers located the defendant and, upon investigation, the same subject was responsible for two other burglary incidents that occurred at the same location on August 16 and August 13. The defendant was placed under arrest without incident.

The defendant is charged with third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree attempted burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools. He was issued an appearance ticket and was ordered to appear at Nassau County Family Court on August 21.
