A motorist died in a single-vehicle crash after hitting a fence, then a house in Baldwin.
According to Nassau County First Squad detectives, a 49-year-old man was operating a 2013 Hyundai Tuscon eastbound on Grand Terrace Avenue on August 15, when, at 11:24 p.m., his vehicle left the roadway, striking a fence and then a home located at 917 Grand Terrace Avenue, causing exterior damage. The residence was occupied at the time of the incident, but no injuries were reported.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local area hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician.
The investigation is ongoing.
