A resident was injured in a house fire in Valley Stream.
On June 5 at 7:57 p.m., Nassau County officers responded to a residential house fire located at 96 St Marks Place. When police arrived, they observed a heavy smoke condition and flames emanating from the second floor.
The Valley Stream Fire Department and neighboring fire departments responded to extinguish the flames. The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad responded to the scene. A resident suffered an injury and was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
No other injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
