Who would’ve thunk it? A new Air Force One, gifted by a foreign nation, was not ready for primetime.
That’s right! After foolishly accepting a $1 billion gift from a dubious foreign ally in Qatar, President Trump’s team has now had to backtrack and revert to the older Air Force One because the newer plane lacks the proper defensive security apparatus.
The question must be asked: how in the world did those in power allow for this aircraft to be used in prior flights if it had insufficient defensive mechanisms?
That’s on top of the fact that there’s the possibility that this foreign power could have attempted to embed listening devices, or other more nefarious triggering mechanisms, on the plane. Certainly, our insiders conducted a thorough overview, but what if something was missed?
Why would we put the safety of our highest leaders in the hands of a foreign government that has funded despicable movements throughout the world? Chief among them are the billions they’re pouring into our universities that prop up radical Middle East studies programs that preach virulent antisemitism and anti-Americanism.
Qatar is a purely transactional ally, meaning they will come and go with the wind, depending on who’s promising them the most. They are not an ideological ally bound by their history of freedom and liberal democracy.
Trump is often a transactional president, and Qatar is providing a gift in the hope of having him indebted to them. No president should take that bait.
It’s an enormous embarrassment for the Trump administration to now have to admit that he’s been flying on a plane that does not have the proper defensive mechanisms to counter a drone or missile attack.
What were these people thinking?
