It was with great delight that we saw Secretary of State Marco Rubio engage reporters in a type of refreshing press conference we have not seen for a very, very long time on Capitol Hill.
Rubio was sharp, to the point, and informed.
He was articulate and answered the questions directly. The secretary explained perfectly why we are in Iran and why we are the good guys on the international stage.
What a seismic shift from the type of rambling, egocentric, never-ending press conferences that come from the president, or the testosterone-laden, confrontational style of Pete Hegseth.
In comparison, Rubio is the one who looks presidential; the one who looks like a grown-up; the one who doesn’t allow the press conference to be all about him.
Prior to Trump‘s ramblings, we were saddled with Joe Biden, who was experiencing extreme mental decline.
Rubio‘s performance solidifies that he should be the front runner for president in 2028.
He stays clear of partisan shots. He comes across as grounded, intelligent, and driven with a core agenda.
Rubio projects confidence in himself, and gives Americans of all political stripes a sense of confidence that the person in charge is competent and worthy of the job.
In a thirty-minute presser, Rubio did more to justify our military actions against Iran than the rest of the administration had done in two months.
If the administration is wise, it will keep Rubio front and center for the remainder of this conflict. Given that any international incursion requires the American public to be on board, it is essential Rubio be given more of a platform to make the case.
