Shameless is the only word that can describe how far-left Democrats will try to appear to Middle America as being rational moderates just before a general election.
They have no problem doing complete 180° shifts in the rhetoric and positions they take on votes they cast just weeks earlier.
Look no further than the comical way in which James Talarico, the Democratic candidate for Senate in Texas, twisted himself into a pretzel to make it appear he’s far less radical than he actually is.
Talarico’s rhetoric and record are totally out of touch, not just for conservative Texas, but for America at large.
Here are some of his more wokish positions:
- God is non-binary
- There are six genders
- Support for biological men playing in women’s sports
Talarico has been one of the biggest advocates for men playing in women’s sports and for trans-activism, including permitting the castration of youth.
But lo and behold, in an interview with a Fox reporter last month, he totally reversed himself on these issues — or at least tried to. When asked if men should play in women’s sports, he says, of course not, and then adds the caveat that it should not be allowed in situations where it would lead to unfairness. Of course, he never defines what that is.
He, therefore, not only reversed himself, but let himself a door to open when he can say down the road that it’s never unfair to have a man playing in women’s sports.
He was an open border advocate, saying that we should put a welcome mat down for immigrants coming across the border and he voted against any kind of tightening of the border. However, now he tries to say that you have to look at the whole context of his statement, in that he also said we need a lock and key at the border.
Yet, he thereafter admits his belief that anyone who came over the border illegally during Biden‘s term should be able to go on a path to citizenship if they just learn English.
That’s what we call an open border.
We saw this before with Abigail Spanberger, a liberal Congresswoman from Virginia, who, when running statewide for governor, attempted to paint herself as a moderate and hide her liberal roots. It worked. But as soon as she was elected, her first bit of business was to ban local law enforcement from assisting ICE to deport illegal criminals.
Same with so-called moderate Mikie Sherrill, who won the governor’s race in New Jersey.
Don’t be fooled. When these liberals tell you who they are through their past statements and voting records, believe them.
