Here are my thoughts on some hot topics:
When Russians aggressively bomb, it’s a non-issue. When Israelis bomb defensively, it’s genocide.
I saw this article and an accompanying photo in the newspaper last week about an apartment complex that was shelled out by a Russian missile with several Ukrainians dying in the blast. Oddly enough, I didn’t hear a single peep from America’s TikTok generation calling this genocide as they would if Israel had fired missiles in retaliation for Palestinian bombs being launched into Tel Aviv.
ISIS plots to bomb the NYS Senate.
You have to say it was quite ironic to hear that the person wanting to blow up the New York Senate Chambers with a homemade bomb was a devotee of ISIS.
That’s rather remarkable, since the New York Senate is now controlled by radical leftists, who actually sympathize far more with radical Islam jihadists then they do for supporters of Israel. Is this a case of the radical Islamists biting the hand that feeds them?
Immigration is down, and so is the murder rate. Coincidence?
There’s a lot of reasons that crime is down over the last year.
Part of it is Improvements to technology. Another reason is a waning of the crazy defund-the-police insanity after the George Floyd murder.
But it’s hard to ignore how the murder rate dropped so precipitously in one year. It almost certainly has to do in large part with the hundreds of thousands of deportations that the Trump administration has implemented. Hardened criminals were the top targets and getting rid of so many of them has had a positive effect on saving lives here in America.
California’s train to nowhere and the media’s attempt to cover for it.
60 Minutes re-aired a brutally biased episode this month on why California’s bullet train to nowhere has been such a fiasco. Gov. Gavin Newsom proposed a train from Los Angeles to San Francisco in 2008 that was to cost $33 billion and be completed by 2020. It’s now years late and more than $90 billion over budget with no track having been laid, according to California Rep. Vince Fong (R-Bakersfield), who calls it “a complete bait and switch.”
The reporter set up interviews with Newson’s lackeys, who blamed the fiasco on the feds not coming up with enough funding. He asked why China can build high-speed rail, but we can’t. The bureaucrats responded that it’s because China decided to dedicate their policy toward it, while we haven’t.
Baloney.
It’s that California’s unions, its extremist green policies, and its governmental incompetence make it prohibitively expensive. Note that Florida, under Gov. Ron DeSantis, completed its bullet train from Miami to Orlando within a decade at a cost of about $6 billion.
