The mask is off.
The Democrats and Socialists of America are gathering in Chicago this weekend, and their agenda isn’t simply about higher taxes, government control of our lives, or bigger government. They are openly advocating a fundamental transformation of the American system. That includes:
- Abolishing the United States Senate.
- Replacing the presidency as we know it.
- Restructuring the Supreme Court.
- Expanding government ownership of major industries.
- And ultimately replacing capitalism with socialism.
“Those aren’t Republican talking points. This is the Democrat Socialists’ own agenda.
“Socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is the most prominent face of this movement, alongside Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the Squad. In fact, they are the leaders of the Democrat Party here and across the nation. Their growing political influence should make clear just how far socialist and communist-driven ideas have captured today’s Democratic Party.
This is a philosophy fundamentally at odds with the economic freedom that built America.
As Republicans, we believe innovation, ingenuity and the fruits of hard work belong to the individual, not the state. We believe entrepreneurs should be encouraged to build businesses, create jobs, take risks, and pursue the American Dream, not become dependent upon permission from an ever-more-powerful government.
The Democrats and their socialist vision risk creating exactly the kind of rigid economic caste system America was founded to reject: government accumulating power while deciding who succeeds, who receives, who produces and who pays.
They don’t want to repair America’s Shining City on a Hill. Their agenda would dismantle its foundations.
And while Democrats and Socialists publicly promote these radical objectives, its Chicago convention hasn’t even published a traditional comprehensive speaker roster, with its Saturday keynote still advertised only as a “surprise.”
Americans deserve to know who is behind the curtain.
Republicans in Suffolk and all our towns, along with our Conservative partners, will defend the Constitution, free enterprise, individual liberty and the fundamental belief that your future belongs to you — not the government.
The warning signs are flashing. Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, and America should pay attention.
