Shockingly, a new poll shows that 80% of Democrats view Israel unfavorably, while another shows a majority of younger Democrats could be classified as favoring Hamas over Israel in the aftermath of a Middle East war that began when Hamas terrorists murdered 1,100 Israelis on October 7, 2023.
It’s gotten so bad on the left that even many gay and lesbian Democrats, who would be killed in Gaza for holding hands with their partners, have been joining groups such as Gays for Gaza.
And now we see Democrats such as Bernie Sanders and AOC pushing legislation that would bar further U.S. aid to Israel for arms to defend itself. A Quinnipiac poll showed that three-fourths of Democrats opposed the United States sending arms to Israel.
This is utterly shocking, since Israel has proven itself to be America’s greatest and most effective ally. We are linked with Israel because we are both liberal democracies with constitutional rule of law protection for minorities (Arab minorities in Israel have more rights than Arabs in surrounding countries) and protection for women and gays.
We are also linked in that Iran, the world‘s greatest proponent of terrorism, sees Israel as the little Satan, but America as the big Satan, while targeting us both for destruction.
So we try to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon that they would most assuredly use on both our nations. Of all the world’s nations, it is only Israel stepping up with unbridled support for the United States in both morale and military backup.
The Europeans are useless when it comes to effective military deterrence. Israel, however, has proven itself to be one of the top two or three militaries in the world, with its amazing intelligence capabilities and its armaments that have debilitated Iranian defenses.
Sanders doesn’t seem to understand that the aid we give to Israel is conditioned on them buying their arms from the United States, which not only props up our economy, but also allows them to knock out the terrorists overseas who want to do harm to us here in America.
Democrats eagerly welcomed an explosion of immigration into our nation over the last 50 years. The effects of importing so many people from the Third World have profoundly affected our politics. There are now as many Muslims in America as there are Jews, and that is tilting the Democratic Party away from Israel and into the grasp of the illiberal Arab countries.
Democrats are no longer fearful of losing the Jewish vote in New York, which will go Democratic anyway. They are, however, terrified of losing a swing state such as Michigan, which has seen its Muslim demographics grow exponentially.
So Democrats are now totally comfortable with being the party of Hamas and the party that abhors Israel. It’s partially because of their quest to maintain power via this reliance on this new Muslim vote, but it’s also because of the indoctrination younger Democrats have received from their Marxist professors and through the biased media reports that come through TikTok and other social media outlets.
There once was a time when moderate, sensible Democrats would speak out against this pro-Hamas wave. Those days are gone for the so-called moderates, knowing such action would doom them in a primary waged by their leftist flank.
