To understand how far the Democratic Party has fallen from its once-admirable pedestal of supporting working people and American values, you must check out the interview conducted with a typical Democratic voter in Maine, who was pondering whether to vote for the communist Nazi sympathizer Graham Platner to be the state’s next senator.
This woman, Laurie Dobson, was a candidate who ran against U.S. Senator Susan Collins in 2008. She is white, in her fifties or sixties and apparently well-educated. She was asked if the tattoo of the Nazi concentration camp symbol on Platner’s chest was enough to disqualify him from getting her vote.
She said it was not and started to rationalize different reasons why.
The reporter brilliantly asked a quick follow-up. What if Platner had gotten a tattoo of the Israeli flag on his chest? Would that be a dealbreaker? To which the Democratic primary voter responded, yes it would, because “I don’t believe in genocide.”
So here was a woman ignoring a Nazi symbol that personified genocide. In fact, this symbol was not just a representation of the Nazis in general, but for those Nazis who guarded the concentration camps where genocide was actually occurring against the Jewish people.
Yet, she was so brainwashed by the liberal media, and perhaps her woke academic upbringing, that she believed the Jewish people are the ones engaging in genocide.
Apparently, now if over a thousand of your people are slaughtered and raped at a concert and you seek to respond militarily, you are committing genocide. But if Nazis round up six million Jewish people and burn them in ovens, that is somehow not genocide.
What has happened to the Democratic Party where this type of perspective has now been normalized?
