The people of New York have elected a legislature that has banished the words “mother” and “father” from our vocabulary.
That’s right — the woke crazies who we collectively have put in office have now gone so far off the deep end that they consider those two words as pejoratives, as though it is somehow insulting to those who are confused as to which gender they are.
As we were preparing our editorial, we saw an email from Suffolk GOP chair Jessie Garcia echoing the same perspective as we approached Father’s Day (or should we say, Non-Gestating Parent Day).
Since the beginning of the Democrat and Republican parties, the leaders of each party would battle ideologically on policies they thought were best for the country. There would be honest disagreement, but both sides had the best interest of the nation in mind. They simply had different means to achieve the same ends.
But it seems that, today, something is different. This Democratic Party has gone nuts. Those who rise up from the political clubhouse are no longer the centrists who seek support from the average voter. Instead, those gaining nominations are the same ones who are appealing to the very small minority within the party who are the loudest, who raise the most money, and who are the most active politically.
Basically, the Marxists and socialists within the party have become the tail that wags the dog. But equally alarming is that the number of Marxists within the Democratic Party is growing exponentially.
That’s a direct result of the indoctrination that the younger generation is getting from the woke Marxist professors who mold their very impressionable minds.
But how far off the deep end do these Marxists have to go before the average Democrat says “enough”? When will the “normal” Dems weigh in because their far-left flank’s outlandish perspective on politics and life in general has now reached a very dangerous level?
It is truly sad to see that these crazy Marxists now feel so emboldened that they can mandate to the 20 million people who reside in New York that they are no longer able to use the words “mother” or “father” for fear of offending 0.05% of the population that might somehow ridiculously be offended by these terms.
The crazies won’t change their ways. It’s up to the rank-and-file Democrat to say they have to stop accepting these nut cases. If the average Democrat remains silent, our country and our civilization as we know it are done for.
Governor Hochul has yet to declare if she will sign or veto the bill. Sign it and she will alienate every normal mom and dad in the state. Veto it and she will alienate the many radicals within the left who fuel her campaign.
Expect her to punt on this one until after the election, given she has until New Year’s Eve to take action. Normal New Yorkers should demand she take a position before the election and veto this outrageous bill.
