Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating an incident during which a woman died after being pulled unresponsive from a residential swimming pool in Huntington.
On July 23, Second Precinct officers responded to a home in Huntington after a 911 caller reported that a family member, Marcia Amarando, was found unresponsive in a pool. The family member pulled the woman from the pool and officers performed CPR until Commack Fire Department Ambulance personnel took over.
Amarando, a resident of the home, was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives believe the incident is non-criminal in nature.
