Toddler Dies Three Days after Being Found Unresponsive in Pool

A two-year-old girl has died after she was found unresponsive in a pool in Mastic Beach and brought to a local hospital.

She was found unresponsive in a pool at her home, located on Mill Drive, on July 20 at approximately 4:50 p.m. The child was removed from the pool and a family member performed CPR until first responders arrived.

The toddler was transported to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue in critical condition. She was then transported to Stony Brook University Hospital. She died on July 23.

Long Island Life & Politics reached out to the Suffolk County Police Department for the cause of death and was referred to the Medical Examiner’s Office. LILP was told by a person who answered the phone for the Medical Examiner’s Office that they are “not allowed to disclose that information.”
