Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating after a man armed with a knife was shot and killed by Southampton Town Police officers.
The officers were responding to a call of an escalating violent domestic situation on May 10 at approximately 2:40 p.m. in Riverhead.
A woman was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Three Southampton Town Police officers were treated and released at a local hospital.
Detectives from the New York State Attorney General’s Office responded.
The investigation is continuing.
