Nassau County police rescued a man who became lost in the woods in Seaford.
On August 7 at 2:06 p.m., officers from the Seventh Precinct responded to a call for a 70-year-old male who entered a wooded area to retrieve his model airplane near the aerodrome field located at Cedar Creek Park, 3340 Merrick Road, and was unable to find his way out.
The Nassau County Police Department Emergency Service Unit (ESU) and Aviation Unit responded and, with the assistance of the New York Police Department (NYPD) Aviation Unit, extricated the man from the woods. The male was conscious, alert and airlifted via Nassau County Aviation to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation.
