Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating an incident where a man was found unresponsive in a pool in Huntington Station.
George Barrett was swimming in an inground pool at Avalon apartments when he lost consciousness and was found floating in the water by another person at the pool, on June 19 at approximately 4:35 p.m. A bystander entered the water and pulled Barrett to the side, where two others assisted in lifting him out of the pool. CPR was administered and 911 was called.
When Huntington Community First Aid Squad (HCFAS) paramedics arrived, they continued CPR and administered further medical treatment.
Barrett, 69, of Huntington Station, was transported by HCFAS to Huntington Hospital in serious condition. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
