Firefighter Injured in Valley Stream Residential Fire

A firefighter was injured while fighting a residential fire in Valley Stream.

On July 3 at 8:09 p.m., Nassau County police officers responded to a residential fire located at 192 Lincoln Street. Upon arrival, they observed flames coming out from the second floor. The Elmont Fire Department, along with several additional fire departments, responded to extinguish the fire. One firefighter suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The Red Cross was notified and responded to assist the displaced residents.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad Detectives responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is electrical and is deemed not suspicious at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
