The law firm of Twomey, Latham, Shea, Kelley, Dubin & Quartararo has announced the recipients of its 2026 Community Service Scholarships. This is the twenty-sixth year the firm has awarded scholarships in East Hampton, Southampton and Riverhead, and the twelfth year the firm has awarded a scholarship in Mattituck.
On June 4, at the East Hampton High School Senior Awards Night, the 2026 scholarships were awarded to Maxim Bellenoue and Maya Taveras.
Bellenoue volunteered for Camp Good Morning, a weekend bereavement camp for children who have lost a parent or a close family member, and volunteered for E-Motion, a movement-based grief group for adults, in East Hampton Village. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society and an AP Scholar with Distinction. He will be attending Hamilton College in the fall.
Taveras volunteered for The Retreat, a non-profit organization on Long Island that creates safety, healing, and hope for those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. She also logged 940 hours of community service as a member of the Century Club, including organizing charitable events and an anti-vaping campaign, volunteering for environmental field support projects, and tutoring students in math, English, and Spanish. She will be attending Bowdoin College in the fall.
Each recipient received a $1,000 check to help with college expenses.
