A Bellerose Terrace man was arrested for drug possession during an overdose investigation in Wantagh.
An investigation into a non-fatal overdose of a Nassau County resident, led to the arrest of Defendant Jack Acquafredda, 23, on August 6 at 4:35 p.m. Detectives placed the defendant under arrest without incident. Subsequent to the investigation, the following items were recovered at Acquafredda’s residence:
- approximately 41 grams of cocaine
- approximately 28.9 grams of MDMA
- approximately 1.5 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms
- approximately 5.3 grams of ketamine
- approximately 54.5 grams (132 thirty-milligram pills) of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine
- approximately fifty-six 0.6-gram tabs of LSD
- a Clonazepam Pill weighing– 0.2 gram
- more than 10 pounds of cannabis
- several hundred tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) gummies, wax, vapes and flavored nicotine vapes
- $30,160.00 in cash believed to be proceeds from drug transactions
- a switchblade knife
- a money counter, multiple drug scales and assorted drug packaging materials
During the investigation, Persephone Abert, 22, of New Hyde Park, was also arrested.
Police charged Acquafredda and Abert with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, Criminal Possession on a Weapon in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of Cannabis in the First Degree.
Acquafredda is additionally charged with another count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, three additional counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree.
They are scheduled to be arraigned on August 7 at First District Court in Hempstead.
