Syosset Man Arrested for Burglary, Attempted Assault

A Syosset man has been arrested for burglary and attempted assault after allegedly breaking into a house.

On August 1 at 11:27 p.m., Nassau County police officers responded to a home in Syosset for a Burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that Jason He, 56, allegedly broke into a residence on Kathleen Drive East in Syosset through an unlocked rear door. Once inside, He allegedly became involved in a disturbance with a 57-year-old male and a 60-year-old female. The argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which the defendant allegedly struck the male in the chest with a chair. The defendant then fled the scene in an unknown direction and the victim immediately called 911. After a thorough investigation, officers located He and placed him under arrest without incident.

Police charged He with Burglary in the First Degree, Attempted Assault in the Second Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree, Harassment in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned on August 2 at First District Court in Hempstead.
