A Queens man was arrested during a domestic disturbance.
Nassau County Fourth Squad police officers responded to a North Lawrence residence for a domestic disturbance on July 22 at 11:30 p.m. They were informed that a verbal argument occurred between the Wikash Sant, 38, and a female victim, 43. The argument escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the defendant allegedly striking the victim in the face with a closed fist. He then allegedly grabbed her around the neck and threatened her life before he forcibly removed her cell phone, preventing her from calling 911. The victim was in fear for her life and fled the scene on foot. A short time later, Sant was located and taken into custody without incident.
Police charged Sant with Robbery in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing. He was scheduled to be arraigned on July 23 at Nassau County Court in Garden City.
