A Great Neck Plaza woman was arrested for allegedly leaving a child in a car unattended.
On July 24 at 6 p.m., someone called 911 who observed a child left unattended inside a parked vehicle in the parking lot of 1240 Old Country Road in Westbury. When police arrived, they observed an 8-year-old boy inside the vehicle with the windows partially open. Responding officers gained access to the vehicle and safely removed the child.
After the investigation, officers determined that Ming Zhang, 46, was allegedly responsible for leaving the child unattended inside the vehicle and was placed under arrest without incident. The child was placed into the custody of a family member.
Police charged Zhang with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and will be arraigned on July 25 at Nassau County Court in Mineola.
