Suffolk County Police arrested a Greenport man for sending an indecent photo to a person he believed was a 13-year-old girl.
Digital Forensic Unit detectives launched an investigation after receiving a report that Corey Hooks allegedlt responded to Top Golf in Holtsville on May 26 to meet an individual he believed was a 13-year-old girl he met on social media and had previously sent an indecent photo. A further investigation determined Hooks allegedly possessed child pornography on his phone.
Hooks, 37, was charged with Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Attempted Dissemination of Indecent Material.
Hooks was held at the Sixth Precinct for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on June 2.
