A Valley Stream woman was arrested during a domestic disturbance.
On July 13 at 8:40 p.m., Nassau County police officers responded to a Valley Stream residence for a domestic disturbance. Upon police arrival, officers were informed that a female subject, Rose Yee, 68, was allegedly involved in a verbal argument with a male victim, 68. The argument escalated and the female subject allegedly became irate and began to throw lit matches at the victim. Yee allegedly began threatening to burn the house down and lit a piece of clothing on fire in front of the house.
After the investigation, officers located the defendant and placed her under arrest without further incident. Yee was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation. No injuries were reported.
Further investigation revealed the defendant had violated an active Order of Protection.
Police charged Yee with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree and Menacing in the Second Degree. She was arraigned on July 14 at First District Court in Hempstead.
