Police Arrest Domestic Disturbance Suspect

An East Norwich man was arrested for his alleged role in a domestic disturbance.

On June 2 at 10:20 p.m., Nassau County officers responded to an East Norwich residence for a domestic disturbance. Officers were informed that a verbal argument occurred between Carmine Gotti Agnello, 40, and a female victim, 29. The argument escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in Gotti Agnello allegedly slapping and punching the victim multiple times. He also allegedly forcibly grabbed her around the neck and applying pressure, making it difficult for her to breathe.

The defendant then smashed the victim’s cellphone on the ground, causing it to break. The victim immediately left the scene and contacted police. On June 3 at 8:00 p.m., Gotti Agnello was located and placed under arrest without incident.

Police charged Gotti Agnello with Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing. He was arraigned on June 4 at First District Court in Hempstead.
