On May 9 at 5:20 p.m., detectives from the Narcotics/Vice Squad conducted an investigation at a residence in Merrick, where they allegedly recovered 28.1 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine and a pink substance believed to be ketamine. The investigation also focused on multiple narcotic sales on multiple dates.
Nicholas Francis, 29, and Jaime Bunting, 27, were arrested without incident.
Police charged Francis and Bunting with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree.
Francis is additionally charged with three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.
Both defendants were arraigned on May 10 at First District Court in Hempstead.
