Suffolk County Police arrested a New Jersey man for allegedly stealing power tools from vehicles parked in front of several homes in East Northport and Greenlawn early this morning.
Police responded to a home on Lantern Street in Greenlawn on August 7 after a 911 caller reported that multiple people were damaging vehicles at 4:16 a.m. Upon arrival, they spotted multiple people, allegedly searching through a vehicle parked in front of the residence. The people fled the scene on foot; one person was arrested a short time later. Police are seeking two additional subjects who fled the scene.
Bayron Velazco Parody, 30, of Norman Road, New Jersey, was charged with Resisting Arrest and Petit Larceny. Following an investigation by Second Squad detectives, it was determined that Velazco Parody was also responsible for stealing and possessing power tools from parked vehicles in front of several homes in East Northport and Greenlawn between 2 a.m. and 4:20 a.m. He was additionally charged with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree, three counts of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree and three counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree.
He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
