A woman from New Jersey has been arrested for prostitution in Freeport.
On May 21 at 3:20 p.m., an undercover investigation was conducted at The Freeport Inn and Marina, located at 445 S. Main Street. It was determined prostitution was being conducted at this location. Nassau County Narcotics Vice Squad Detectives placed Santa Y. Lopez, 35, of Guttenberg, New Jersey under arrest without incident.
Police charged Lopez with Prostitution. She was released on an Appearance Ticket. Further investigation revealed the defendant is illegally in the United States and is subject to removal proceedings. Lopez was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
