A man has been arrested for allegedly shooting a woman during a domestic dispute in Greenlawn.
During a domestic related incident on June 4, Eric Giovanni Whilby allegedly shot a 40-year-old woman on Leigh Street at 12:52 a.m. Whilby then fled the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Later that morning at 8:40 a.m., Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives, with the assistance of New York State Police Troop T and the New Rochelle Police Department, arrested Whilby on Pelham Road in New Rochelle.
Whilby, 37, of Greenlawn, was charged with Assault in the First Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Secondd Degree. He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on June 5.
