Suffolk County Police arrested a man for allegedly shooting another man during a dispute in Mastic Beach early this morning.
On August 23, Sammie Darby and another man allegedly became involved in a verbal dispute inside the Track Gas Station market, located at 310 Neighborhood Road, at 1:18 a.m. They were asked to leave the establishment and allegedly continued arguing outside when Darby allegedly shot the victim in the leg.
The victim, 29, was transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk in Patchogue for non-life-threatening injuries.
Darby, 48, who is undomiciled, was arrested a short time later and charged with Assault in the Second Degree. He was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on August 24.
