Suffolk County Police arrested a Brentwood man for allegedly shooting another man during a barbecue in June.
A 35-year-old man was shot in the neck during an altercation at a barbecue at a home in Brentwood on June 21 at 8:04 p.m. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and subsequently released.
Following an investigation by Third Squad detectives, it was determined Jose Quezada was the shooter. Quezada was taken into custody in Washington Heights in Manhattan at 6:40 a.m. by the United States Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Quezada, 30, was charged with Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree. He will be held overnight at the Third Precinct and arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on July 29.
