Four individuals ages 17 to 18 were arrested for allegedly burglarizing a Hewlett Neck residence.
On June 7 at 10:06 p.m., Nassau County police from the Fourth Squad responded to a Smith Lane residence for four subjects allegedly searching a parked vehicle before entering into an open garage. Police located the four subjects riding on three scooters and one bicycle and attempted to flee the scene on foot. Officers conducted a thorough investigation that resulted in two 17-year-old female teenagers, as well as Shanel Butcher, 18 and Quadir Ingram, 18, both of Manhattan, being located and arrested.
Ingram allegedly refused to obey the officer’s verbal commands while in the process of being arrested and resulted in a Taser being deployed in order to subdue him. He was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. While at the hospital, Ingram allegedly spat at an officer and headbutted him, causing pain and injury to the officer. The officer was also assessed and treated for injuries sustained by the defendant.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that the scooters and bicycle were allegedly reported stolen.
The two female juveniles are being charged with Petit Larceny and released on appearance tickets. Their identities were not released due to their ages. Emmanuel Rivera and Ingram are both being charged with two counts of Petit Larceny and Burglary in the Second Degree. Ingram is also being charged with Assault in the Second Degree. They were arraigned on June 8 at First District Court in Hempstead.
