Fight at Softball Game Leads to Arrest

A Lindenhurst man was arrested for allegedly assaulting another man when a fight broke out during a recreational softball game in Seaford.

On May 31 at 2:08 p.m., Nassau County police officers from the Seventh Precinct responded to a 911 call at Cedar Creek Park, located at 3340 Merrick Road. Once they arrived, it was determined that, during the course of a recreational softball game, two teams were involved in a dispute. The argument escalated and Brian Polanco allegedly struck a 34-year-old male victim in the head with a metal bat. He was placed under arrest without incident. The victim was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Police charged Polanco with Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. He is scheduled to be arraigned on June 1 at First District Court in Hempstead.
