Employee Arrested for Stealing from Company After Owner Died

Suffolk County Police arrested an employee who allegedly stole from a Hauppauge business in February. 

Precious Ortiz, an employee of Paragon Advertising, located at 70 Corporate Drive, allegedly wrote two checks,  totaling $7,032, to her boyfriend’s business after the owner of Paragon Advertising died on February 26.  Ortiz allegedly falsified the company’s records to show the checks were written to a vendor of the business. Ortiz was arrested at the Third Precinct earlier on July 2. 

Ortiz, 34, of Deer Park, was charged with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree. She was held at the Fourth Precinct and scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on July  3.
