An East Garden City woman was arrested for allegedly spraying a substance at a group of people in a hotel room.
On June 12 at 8:44 p.m., Nassau County police officers responded to a disturbance at La Quinta Inn, located at 821 Stewart Avenue in East Garden City. When police arrived, it was determined that, during the course of a physical altercation, Jacquelyn Chan, 33, allegedly sprayed an unknown substance into a crowd of people. As a result, four victims were exposed to the spray, suffered from irritation and transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment. The defendant was placed under arrest without incident.
Police charged Chan with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Further investigation revealed Chan had an active Nassau County warrant. She was scheduled to be arraigned on June 13 at First District Court in Hempstead.
