A Deer Park man was arrested for allegedly menacing another man in front of his house and weapons possession.
On June 19 at 7:10 p.m., a 51-year-old man observed a 2024 black Honda Civic parked outside his Woodbury home for an extended period of time. The victim approached the vehicle to check on the driver’s well-being when a verbal argument ensued. The argument escalated and the subject allegedly exited his vehicle, went into his trunk, brandished a long silver knife, grabbed the victim and attempted to stab him. The victim, in fear for his life, shoved the subject, causing him to drop the knife and flee the scene in his vehicle in an unknown direction. The victim immediately called 911.
On June 20, after an extensive investigation, Nassau County detectives from the Second Squad located Bryan Calderon, 22, and placed him under arrest without incident.
Police charged Calderon with Attempted Assault in the First Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. He is scheduled to be arraigned on June 21 in Hempstead.
