A Copiague man was arrested for allegedly stabbing another man during an argument.
On June 4 at 5 p.m., David McCarthy, was allegedly involved in a verbal argument with a 28-year-old male victim at his Levittown residence. The argument escalated and McCarthy allegedly stabbed the victim in the leg, causing a severe laceration. McCarthy then allegedly fled the scene before police arrived. The victim was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment of his injuries.
Subsequent to the investigation, the defendant was located and placed under arrest without incident. No other injuries were reported.
Nassau County police charged McCarthy with Assault in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned on June 5 at First District Court in Hempstead.
