Brooklyn Man Arrested for Alleged Role in Fight in Parking Lot

A Brooklyn man was arrested for allegedly assaulting another man in a parking lot in front of a convenience store in Manorhaven.

On May 29 at 5:01 p.m., Nassau County officers from the Sixth Squad responded to the parking lot of Smoke and Convenience, located at 152 Shore Road, for a disturbance. Upon arrival, it was determined that Fared Fahd Ahmed Alsumairi, 25, was allegedly involved in a verbal argument with a 66-year-old male victim. The argument escalated and the Alsumairi allegedly struck the victim in the face with a closed fist, knocking him to the ground and then allegedly struck him with his vehicle.

The defendant was located and placed under arrest without further incident. The victim was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Police charged Alsumairi with Assault in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. He was arraigned on May 30 at First District Court in Hempstead.
