On September 1, Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig joined members of the Chamber of Commerce of the Moriches, friends, family and supporters to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of Ruby Impact, a new fitness studio that recently opened on Canal Street in Center Moriches.

The ribbon cutting begins a new chapter in the local fitness community, bringing a kickboxing and strength-infused training studio, founded by 24-year-old Ruby Comeau, a proud 2020 graduate of the Eastport South Manor School District. Comeau has turned her passion for fitness, empowerment and helping others into a new local business designed to provide residents of all experience levels with an energetic and welcoming place to train.

The studio aims to create an encouraging environment where members can improve their wellbeing and technique while developing discipline, confidence, and a strong sense of community. The opening marks an exciting milestone not only for Comeau, but also for the local business community, demonstrating how young entrepreneurs can turn their passions into opportunities while giving back to the community where they grew up.
