Maidenbaum & Sternberg, LLP, a Nassau County law firm concentrating in property tax reduction, is changing its name to Maidenbaum & Madmon, LLP to recognize Amy Madmon, who is being elevated to named partner.

Madmon has been with the firm for over 20 years, starting as an associate attorney in 2006 after spending two summers with the firm as a legal intern. Since 2020, she has served as a managing partner, leading a staff of over 55 employees and helping tens of thousands of Nassau County residents save on their property taxes every year.

In addition to navigating the firm through the COVID pandemic, Madmon led efforts to modernize and digitize operations, establishing an electronic sign-up system and creating unique client portals that provide real-time status updates. Leveraging her real estate background, she developed a transition program that creates an efficient process between buyers and sellers, ensuring real property tax savings are correctly allocated.

Madmon is a graduate of American University Washington College of Law. At the start of her career with Maidenbaum, she practiced residential and commercial real estate law. As a Nassau County native, Amy is deeply involved in the firm’s charitable giving and community service projects. She was named a Premier Business Woman of Long Island in 2025 by Herald Community Newspapers.

Ilyse Gellar Sternberg, partner of Maidenbaum & Sternberg, who has been with the firm for 35 years and helped spearhead the firm into exponential growth, particularly the commercial department, will remain with the firm as of counsel. She will continue working with her clients while Madmon will take over all internal leadership responsibilities.

“I am incredibly honored to have my name added to the Maidenbaum masthead,” Madmon said. “For six years, I have had the pleasure of leading the Maidenbaum team through the most successful span of its history, growing closer with our staff and the community we serve each day. I look forward to taking on the new responsibilities that come with this elevated role and continuing to work with my friend and colleague, Shalom Maidenbaum, to aggressively represent the rights of taxpayers and help Long Islanders save money.”

“I am proud to announce our decision to rename our law firm Maidenbaum & Madmon, LLP, in recognition of my partner, Amy Madmon, who has been instrumental to this firm’s success over the past six years,” Shalom Maidenbaum, the firm’s founder, said.

“Amy continues our tradition of professional advocacy for our clients,” Maidenbaum continued. “Her winning personality, communication, and technology skills have been instrumental in developing our social media platforms and raising public awareness of taxpayers’ rights to challenge their assessments and pay their fair share of taxes. I look forward to many more years of this firm continuing under Amy’s stewardship. While I remain active in the firm, I sleep well at night knowing that Amy is at the helm. She is a consummate professional who I am confident will continue to be a credit to our firm while maintaining our personal touch with our vast clientele.”
