Tractor-Trailer Hits Vehicle on LIE

Three people were injured when a tractor-trailer hit a car on the Long Island Expressway in North Hills.

On May 29 at 11:38 p.m., a 53-year-old male was operating a 2011 Mack Tractor Trailer westbound on the Long Island Expressway near exit 34 when he rear-ended a 2023 Honda Civic operated by a 32-year-old male. The Honda had two passengers, a 33-year-old and a 31-year-old male. The operator of the tractor-trailer had no injuries.

All three occupants of the Honda were transported by Nassau County Police Department Ambulances to local hospitals for treatment. The operator of the Honda and the 33-year-old passenger were treated for minor injuries. The 31-year-old passenger is in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
