12 Vehicles Impounded, More Than 40 Tickets Issued
Suffolk County Police have arrested nine people and impounded 12 vehicles after a street takeover in East Farmingdale.
Through intelligence gathering and social media monitoring, the Street Takeover Task Force learned that a street takeover was planned in the Plainview-East Farmingdale area on July 17 at 11:30 p.m.
Numerous vehicles had effectively closed down the roadway on Central Avenue by driving recklessly, performing stunts in the roadway and doing donuts and burnouts at approximately 11:40 p.m. Members of the Street Takeover Task Force responded and arrested nine people and impounded 12 vehicles. Additionally, 46 traffic tickets were issued for various infractions.
The following people were arrested and charged with Unlawful Speed Contest, a misdemeanor:
- Logan Woodwiss, 23, of 2769 Beach Drive, Merrick
- Devanny Alvarezcanela, 20, of 1641 Fletcher Ave., Merrick
- Christopher Sosa, 31, of 9926 39th Ave., Corona
- Joseph Miller, 18, of 11 Seaman Place, Deer Park
- Davon Chavesmariano, 26, of 8 Speed St., Brentwood
- Justin Jadunandan, 20, of 13909 Linden Blvd., Jamaica
- Dale Richardson, 30, of 1031 Arthur St., Uniondale
- Maher Jaghab, 21, of 3288 Hewlett Ave., Merrick
- Brian Fortune, 22, 529 Oak Neck Road, West Islip
They are scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
