An individual has been hospitalized after being hit by a car after he exited his vehicle.
On June 12, Fausto Sorto was driving a 2014 Honda Accord eastbound on Town Line Road in East Northport, when he pulled onto the shoulder in front of 341 Town Line Road, exited the vehicle, and walked around to the back of his vehicle. When he was in the driver’s side trunk area, he was struck by an eastbound 2019 Volkswagen Atlas, driven by Benjamin Gutleber, at 7:36 p.m.
Sorto, 35, of Brentwood, was transported to South Shore University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Gutleber, 17, of Northport, was not injured.
Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
