Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating an incident that killed a pedestrian in East Farmingdale last night.
A woman was walking westbound across Route 110 at the intersection of Conklin Street on August 29, when she was struck by a southbound 2011 Hyundai Sonata at approximately 8:30 p.m.
The woman, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the Hyundai, Xavier Thomas, 30, of Farmingdale, was not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
